Tired of pressing that button every single drive?
On the newer Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon, the engine shuts off at every red light. The little A button turns it off, but it resets every time you start the truck. There's no permanent factory off.
Underneath, there's a second system running on every drive: DFM, GM's newer version of AFM, shutting cylinders off and back on to save a little fuel. AurenceX 10 Speed turns both off. Two fixes, one plug.
WHAT CHANGES AFTER YOU PLUG IT IN
Factory vs With AurenceX™
FACTORY
- Engine shuts off at red lights when auto start-stop activates
- Start-stop may need to be turned off every time you start the truck
- AFM/DFM switches cylinders off and on while driving
- Deactivation lifters cycle with cylinder switching
- Some owners use manual or Tow/Haul mode to avoid unwanted switching
WITH AURENCEX™ 10 SPEED
- Engine stays running at lights with start-stop disabled
- Auto start-stop stays off automatically on supported vehicles
- AFM/DFM kept off to maintain full 8-cylinder operation
- AFM/DFM lifter deactivation commands are avoided
- Drive normally in Drive, with no mode switching to remember
Features depend on vehicle compatibility. Auto start-stop control is available only on supported configurations. AurenceX does not repair existing engine damage.
Your Truck Has DFM. It Switches Constantly.
AFM switches between 8-cylinder and 4-cylinder operation. DFM, used in engines such as the 5.3L (L84) and 6.2L (L87), can deactivate different cylinder combinations based on driving conditions.
It shuts cylinders off at light load
During light cruising, the computer deactivates certain cylinders to reduce fuel consumption, then reactivates them as more power is needed.
Special lifters make that happen
Special lifters deactivate the valves of selected cylinders using an internal locking mechanism that engages and disengages as the system operates.
That switching is a wear point
AFM/DFM lifters contain moving components that can experience mechanical failures. A failing lifter may cause ticking, rough running, or engine misfires.
AurenceX stops the switching
On compatible vehicles, AurenceX disables AFM/DFM operation to keep your V8 running on all 8 cylinders. It does not repair existing engine damage or guarantee prevention of mechanical failures.
Illustrative cost range for major lifter and camshaft repair work.
Helps keep compatible V8 engines in full-cylinder operation without tuning.
Repair costs vary by vehicle, repair shop, and extent of damage. Disabling AFM/DFM does not eliminate all risks of lifter failure.
Two fixes. One plug. Nothing to take apart.
Not a tune. It doesn't flash or reprogram the factory computer. Unplug it any time and the truck is back to stock.
Find the port. Plug it in. Start your truck.
No tools, no app, no tuning. It works from the very next start.
Built for the 10 Speed Trucks
5.3L and 6.2L V8 only. Older Silverado and Sierra trucks use the AurenceX V8 & V6.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit my truck?
Will it fit my truck?
It fits the 2022.5 to 2026 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 (the refreshed trucks with the large horizontal center screen) and the 2021 to 2024 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Yukon XL, with the 5.3L or 6.2L V8. Use the fitment checker above to confirm.
My truck is a 2021 or older Silverado or Sierra. Which one do I need?
My truck is a 2021 or older Silverado or Sierra. Which one do I need?
Those trucks use the original AurenceX V8 & V6 disabler, not the 10 Speed.
Do I have to press anything?
Do I have to press anything?
No. Plug it in once. DFM stays off and auto start stop turns off by itself every time you start the truck.
Does it tune or reprogram my truck?
Does it tune or reprogram my truck?
No. It doesn't tune, flash or reprogram the factory computer. Unplug it any time and the truck goes straight back to factory behavior.
My engine already ticks. Will this fix it?
My engine already ticks. Will this fix it?
No. AurenceX helps prevent future DFM (AFM) wear. It doesn't undo damage that's already happened. If you're already hearing a tick or feeling a misfire, get it looked at first.
What about gas mileage?
What about gas mileage?
Expect about 1 mpg less, because the engine stays on all 8 cylinders. That's roughly what DFM was saving.
My 5.3L never shuts off at lights. Is something wrong?
My 5.3L never shuts off at lights. Is something wrong?
Check your glovebox label for RPO code YK9. During the chip shortage GM built some 2021 and 2022 5.3L trucks without DFM or auto start stop. Those trucks have nothing for AurenceX to turn off.
Is my truck AFM or DFM?
Is my truck AFM or DFM?
Every vehicle on the 10 Speed fitment list runs DFM. DFM is GM’s newer version of AFM. Instead of only switching between 8 and 4 cylinders, it can shut off anywhere from 1 to 7 cylinders.
Does it work on the Escalade, the 2.7L or a diesel?
Does it work on the Escalade, the 2.7L or a diesel?
No. The 10 Speed supports the 5.3L and 6.2L V8 in the six vehicles listed above only. The Escalade, the 2.7L TurboMax and the diesels are not supported.
Will the dealer know, or will it affect my warranty?
Will the dealer know, or will it affect my warranty?
It doesn’t tune, flash or reprogram the factory computer, and it unplugs with no trace. If you like, unplug it before you drop the truck off for service and plug it back in after.
Do I still need to press the auto start stop button?
Do I still need to press the auto start stop button?
No. AurenceX turns auto start stop off for you on every start, the same as pressing the A button yourself. If you ever want it back, unplug the module.
Can I still use Tow/Haul or drive normally?
Can I still use Tow/Haul or drive normally?
Yes. Drive the truck the way you always do. You no longer need to sit in manual or Tow/Haul mode just to keep DFM from switching.
